I solved the problem!!!

After banging my head against my desk for two days, I finally solve the problem!

OK, let me write down what really helped me.

First, you got to believe you can do it, although you googled and tried everything they suggested.
Second, if the app server can't talk to new 2008 server. It only means the new 2008 firewall things.
Third, go to firewall exception list, allow 135, 139 port, as well as dtc, com+. Don't forget check the 'notify me'.

4. go to control panel---admin tools---component services---expand to my computer---check protocol. TCP/IP is the one. And make sure No ports range is selected.

5. Then expand further to DTC and check the local DTC properties. Settings should be updated as:

6. Install MS DTCPing. Very useful tool!

7. go to windows firewall with advanced security: check inbound rules. Enable DTC traffic.

8. The try to DTCPing. Everything works!!!
